Sometimes, Names Are Quite Important
At last, the age old question has been answered. 'Where are my socks'? Or rather, more accurately, 'Where is my sock'? One always does turn up missing right? This aggravation is as old a socks themselves. So, where did they go?
Well, as it turns out, Mrs. H. H. Name is responsible. Allow me a moment to point out that all names have been changed to protect the reputations of those mentioned in this article. During her daily cleaning ritual, Mrs. Name inadvertently sucked up a sock in her dyson upright vacuum cleaner. As this did not cause any type of damage to the beloved machine, Mrs. Name never even noticed.
It seems that Mr. H. H. Name has some issues of his own. Mr. Name is a bit of a cooking aficionado, and insists on nothing but the best in his kitchen. Name brand appliances and gadgets galore. Even his clothing is all designer brands. If they make it, Mr. N has it. As it turns out, The Names where entertaining very important business clients, when it happened. Mr. N was telling about his beautiful new Cuisinart food processor when he tripped over his own shoelace, and spilled dinner over his beloved Kitchenaid oven, and his guests. Needless to say, it did not end well.
Mr. Name is completely right. If the better quality item is more expensive, it is worth the cost.
Good quality will withstand the test of time. Planned obsolescence does not affect these items. Remember the old expression 'if it is not broken, don't fix it? Manufacturers of high quality merchandise know that people will continue to purchase from them in the future, because they have a trusted reputation.
After all, why buy an item over and over again, when you can simply pay more and get an item that will last more than ten times longer? Good quality usually cost more. Not always, but most of the time.
Even though Mr. Name was annoying with his bragging, his message was true. More often than not, you get what you pay for.
The lesson to be learned here is that perhaps the more a vacuum sucks, the more you should buy it. Oh, and keep your shoes tied.
