Your Health And Comfort With Desktop PCs
The most comfortable way to work on the computer is with desktop pcs. Your personal computer on a desk is at just the right height, as is your keyboard. Therefore, whatever type of work you do on it, your posture is better, your arms are at the right position, and it is the healthiest and smartest way to work.
Of course, as far as convenience, the lap top beats all. It is portable, has a built in mouse, which is better for you than the mouse on the pad, and you can use it just about any place that it is not too sunny.
But whom ever designed it never thought of typing. The typist is not at ease typing on the lap top. It was never made for a large typing jobs. The keyboard is flat, not elevated like a typing keyboard. It is not property positioned, so that your neck and head needs to be bending in an unnatural way at all times while working on the lap top.
The first typewriter in about 1874 introduced a set of keys that would be more natural for the fingers to find. The keys were also in a graduated elevation form and the letters were arranged so that they would not be snagged together while the person types in the English language. The keyboard on a lap top is very flat, although our fingers are different lengths. The lap top may be convenient for many things, but it certainly was not designed for long periods of typing.
For a person who types a lot per day, a separate keyboard can be attached to your lap top. In this way, you can place the keyboard at the height at which it is comfortable for you, while the screen of the lap top is placed elevated on your desk, preferably at head height. This will make for a much more comfortable typing stand.
So if you need the convenience of a lap top for your traveling work, they are great for this purpose. But for the daily workload, nothing can beat the comfort of desktop pcs.
